Rescued pitbull mix for experienced owners
Hello. I am looking to rehome a female pitbull-labrador mix. Her name is Stigma. We found her at 7 months old, starved and terrified of humans. Turned out she belonged to our abusive neighbors. They have given her up to us. She has been with us for over a year, and made some progress; she is smart and loyal, a wonderful, energetic dog. However, she remains afraid of strangers, children, and sudden noises. Walking her is a challenge, as she jumps at the smallest sound and always attempts to run away when people approach. She is afraid of simplest things such as busstops and bins, because the people who bred her never took her outside until her rescue. One year later, the trauma remains and will potentially never go away.
Stigma is a very energetic girl, she loves to jog with me and is very friendly with other dogs. We hope to find her a home where she can have a sibling to play with and help her with confidence issues. She’s big and clumsy, so it’d be great if her new home had a garden. She’s smart though, especially when treats are involved. She knows how to sit, lay down, and give both paws.
We are looking for a child-free home with patient and experienced owners who can give her the attention she needs so badly. It breaks our hearts to give her up, however we will never be able to provide her the home she needs. We do not have the money or the time to get a second dog, or to make our garden more accommodative to her needs. Furthermore, because we both work long hours and are unable to give her the time, attention, and playtime she needs to be a happy dog.
Please note we will do a very strict home check. Also, due to her fear of strangers, we will need the new owners to come around several times, and to allow Stigma into her home a few times before we give her up. We want to be 100% sure and trusty that she is going into safe and loving hands.
Stigma is a good girl at home, never chewing furniture. She is trained to go potty outside. She has all her vaccinations and the book is up to date. She’s a healthy, loyal dog who will give you her whole heart once she trusts you, like she has with us.
Homes only without children, as she is terrified of kids and noise. For calls please note I only speak English. Only serious and experienced owners please. This is not a pet, she is a dog in need of great care and attention.
