This is an authentic vintage handcrafted Indian ankle bracelet, traditionally worn by women in rural communities as both ornament and symbol of status. Such heavy bangles were prized pieces of jewelry, made by skilled artisans using repoussé beading, fluting and hand chasing, reflecting centuries-old techniques of Indian silversmiths.

In the early 20th century the bracelet was thoughtfully adapted into a small ashtray or vide poche by adding a gilt interior, giving it a new function while preserving its cultural character. The exterior retains its silvered surface with natural aged patina, while the inside glows with warm golden tones.

The piece measures around 13 to 14 cm in circumference, 4 cm in height and weighs about 370 grams. It stands today as both a fragment of authentic Indian jewelry tradition and a unique vintage decorative object, equally appealing to collectors of ethnic art and to those who appreciate unusual home accents.
