This Japanese Satsuma ashtray with Geisha scene is a striking example of mid-20th century Japanese export ceramics. The scene is framed by rich floral motifs, raised enamel dot texture, and elegant gilt accents.

The rectangular ceramic body shows classic Satsuma characteristics. These include warm ivory crackle glaze, fine line artwork, and detailed gold embellishment. Moreover, the floral border adds depth and luxury to the overall design. Each side includes a cigarette rest, making it both decorative and functional.
