If you do not own a dedicated handheld light meter, a very nice and simple application called MYLightMeter Pro is available for Android and Apple devices. It has been personally tested and works beautifully. The lifetime membership costs only around €5 and it is extremely useful for vintage film cameras whose internal light meters no longer function.

Using the camera manually is actually very simple:

1.First, set the ISO according to the film you are using.

(The ISO setting is located on the front side of the lens.)

2. Use your light meter application to take a reading of the lighting condition.

The app will recommend the correct aperture and shutter speed combination.

4. Focus is achieved by a classic rangefinder method. Look through the large, bright viewfinder and you will notice a smaller yellow-tinted rangefinder patch in the center. This traditional rangefinder method is smooth, precise, and very enjoyable to use, especially for street photography and candid moments. As you turn the focusing ring on the lens, the double image inside this small window moves. Simply align the two images together until they perfectly match — once they are aligned, your subject is in sharp focus and you are ready to take the shot. This traditional rangefinder focusing system is fast, precise, and very satisfying to use.

The lens also includes distance markings in meters, ranging from 1.2m to 5m, and then to infinity for distant subjects. Once you become familiar with the simple rangefinder focusing system and distance scale, shooting becomes very fast, natural, and intuitive.

Please also take into consideration that the light seals have been professionally replaced, and the camera has been fully tested using Kodak TMAX 400 black and white film in order to ensure that everything functions correctly. The testing confirmed that the shutter speeds operate properly and that the new light seals effectively protect the camera from light leaks. Mechanical film cameras are even more complicated — even if they pass a full roll of film and the results look great, there can still be hidden issues that only appear later, which is why proper inspection and long-term understanding of the camera is very important.
