After the first artificial satellite called Sputnik 1 and the first living creature, which was a female named Lajka, he managed to send the first man into space. The Russian pilot Yuri Gagarin became the first man in space on April 12, 1961. He was brought into orbit by the Vostok 1 rocket, which took off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, then circled the Earth once and landed again after 108 exciting minutes - alive and well. "When I flew around the Earth in a spaceship, I saw how beautiful our planet is. Humans, let us protect and reproduce this beauty, but let us not destroy it! ” said the astronaut, who became a hero not only for his country, but for the whole world.
