If you are building a budget gaming setup, this is the cheapest way to get a big 144Hz screen. Going from 60Hz to 144Hz is the single most noticeable upgrade most people ever make, and at this price it costs less than a game.

This was a proper gaming monitor in its day and it still is one. The 1 ms TN panel is the reason competitive players kept choosing TN over IPS for years - it is simply faster. Straight talk on the trade-off: colours and viewing angles are not on the level of a modern IPS screen, and it is 1080p rather than 1440p. For shooters, racing and fast-paced games, and as a second screen, it does the job properly. For photo or video editing it is not the right monitor.
To run 144Hz you need the DVI dual-link or HDMI input with a suitable cable and source.
