Nikon AF200 / Fun•Touch 2 – Classic 35mm Point-and-Shoot with Nikon Glass
The Nikon AF200, also known as the Nikon Fun•Touch 2 in the United States, is a charming classic 35mm film point-and-shoot camera from 1993. Designed as a simple and reliable everyday camera, it offers the effortless shooting experience that makes vintage compact film cameras so enjoyable today.
What makes the AF200 particularly appealing is that, despite its entry-level positioning, Nikon equipped it with a genuine 34mm f/4.5 glass lens. The 34mm wide-angle focal length is wonderfully versatile for street photography, travel, everyday snapshots, landscapes, and group photographs, while the quality Nikon optics provide excellent sharpness and contrast for a camera of this type.
The camera also features true active autofocus, helping the lens accurately focus on your subject rather than relying on the basic fixed-focus systems found in many inexpensive compact cameras of the period.
Simple Fully Automatic Operation
Everything is designed around simplicity. The camera automatically handles film loading, film advance, exposure, focusing, and rewinding, while the DX-coding system automatically reads the ISO speed of compatible film.
The AF200 also features an automatic flash system, making it extremely easy to use in changing lighting conditions. In brighter conditions, such as daylight, the camera automatically keeps the flash off when it is not needed. When the available light becomes too low, the camera automatically activates the flash to help illuminate the subject.
There is also a convenient flash override switch on the front of the camera. By holding the switch, you can activate the flash even in situations where the camera would normally decide that flash is not necessary, giving you additional control when you want to use fill flash or simply prefer to shoot with the flash.
Simply load your film, slide open the lens cover, compose your photograph and shoot — the camera takes care of the rest.
Practical AA Battery Power
Another great advantage is its power source. The Nikon AF200 uses two standard AA batteries, which are inexpensive and widely available almost anywhere in the world.
Batteries are not included with the camera.
Sliding Lens Cover
The camera's sliding lens cover is another thoughtful feature. It protects the lens from dust and scratches when the camera is not in use while also serving as the camera's on/off switch. Slide it open and the camera is ready to shoot; close it and the camera is safely protected.
Condition
The camera is in excellent overall condition, with only minor imperfections on the body consistent with its age and previous use. These small cosmetic marks do not detract from the camera's attractive vintage appearance.
Please carefully examine the high-definition photos provided in the listing, as they form an important part of the condition description and allow you to see the camera's cosmetic condition in detail.
A wonderful choice for anyone who appreciates classic Nikon design, genuine glass optics, and the simplicity and character of 1990s film photography.
