The display works perfectly with no functional issues. Please note that the anti-glare/anti-reflective coating has started to peel/wear in some areas.
This is a known issue affecting the anti-reflective coating on certain Apple Retina displays from this generation. The issue is with the coating itself and does not affect the functionality of the screen.
The screen displays the image normally and is fully usable; the peeling is purely cosmetic.
