2 Euro Belgium 2026 - National Geographic Institute and 200th Anniversary of the Royal Observatory (Proof) is a dedicated collector version commemorating the National Geographic Institute and the 200th anniversary of the Royal Observatory. Unlike circulation-quality examples, this edition is struck in Proof quality, with specially prepared dies and planchets designed to produce sharp details and a characteristic contrast between polished fields and frosted relief. With a mintage of only 4,000 pieces, it represents a limited Belgian commemorative issue for collectors of modern euro coins.
