**About TEKO TEKO**
The Teko Teko was any full figure, but in its three dimensional form was often used at the apex of a building where it was seen to embody the spirit of the building. It was carved in a defiant stance with tongue outstretched, paua shell eyes and holding a Mere or Taiaha, to ward off any intruders.
