The Revue SC4 may carry the Revue badge from the German Foto-Quelle stores of the early 1980s, but the real strength of this camera lies in its maker: Cosina.
This model is essentially a Cosina CT-1 Super, simply rebranded, and built with the same high standards that made Cosina famous worldwide.
Cosina is one of Japan’s most respected camera manufacturers, known for producing high-quality bodies for many leading brands. Over the years, Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Ricoh, and even Voigtländer used Cosina-built bodies in their own product lines. A well-known example is the Nikon FM10, a camera designed and manufactured entirely by Cosina. The SC4 shares the same design philosophy: durable metal chassis, reliable mechanics, and clean, straightforward control layout.
This Revue SC4 feels solid and premium in the hands, very comparable to popular cameras of its era from Nikon or Pentax. It features a maximum shutter speed of 1/2000s, clear shutter speed dial, and a bright focusing screen with split-image circle and microprism ring for fast and accurate focusing. The ISO/ASA wheel is easy to set, and all controls operate smoothly.
The camera’s light meter works perfectly, displaying simple and accurate “+ / 0 / –” LED indicators, making exposure extremely easy even for beginners. It operates on 2× LR44 batteries, which are included and easy to find today.
This particular unit is in excellent condition.
The mirror bumper foam is clean and healthy, and the back door light seals are also in excellent condition — important details for clean, leak-free negatives. The camera has been tested with real film and performs beautifully, delivering sharp, clean, classic 35mm photos.
The camera comes with a brand new, unused Pentax 28–80mm autofocus lens, fully compatible with this manual body because it includes an aperture ring. The lens works perfectly and offers a very versatile range for portraits, landscapes, and everyday shooting.
The Revue SC4 (Cosina CT-1 Super) is a beautifully built, premium-quality 35mm SLR — simple, reliable, and made by one of Japan’s top camera designers.
Perfect for anyone who wants to start film photography with confidence or for an enthusiast who appreciates high-quality Japanese engineering.
A truly excellent camera with a working light meter, smooth mechanics, and the solid construction Cosina was famous for.
Why buy from me?
Photography is not just about selling equipment for me — it is something I genuinely love and enjoy, just like many of the people buying from me. I share the same passion for cameras, lenses, vintage equipment, and photography gadgets, and this is one of the reasons I carefully choose the items I sell.
I also grew up working in sales, so over the years I learned not only how to sell, but how important honesty, trust, and proper presentation are. My experience in both photography and selling taught me how to correctly inspect, test, and evaluate equipment before offering it to someone else.
Every item I sell is treated the way I would personally want to receive it as a buyer myself. That means it is carefully cleaned, checked, tested, and serviced when needed before being listed for sale. I pay close attention even to small details because I know how important condition is to photographers and collectors.
Another thing that is very important to me is transparency. The photos you see in my listings are taken with a professional product photography approach, using proper lighting and high-quality digital cameras so buyers can clearly see the real condition of the item. I am confident to say that the way I present my items is not just among the best in Cyprus but also comparable to some of the most professional sellers worldwide. Only very professional sellers or businesses use dedicated product photography studios to present their items with full clarity and the highest level of detail — and I follow the same approach in my presentation. Many times I find myself noticing imperfections in the images that are difficult to see even with my experienced eye before the photos. My photos show everything in detail, often even more clearly than a buyer could see the camera from close. I highlight imperfections not only in the photos but also in the detailed description so the buyer knows perfectly what they will buy without surprises or excuses.
My goal is simple: I want the buyer to know exactly what they are purchasing, without surprises or excuses later.
Besides local platforms, I also sell internationally on eBay, which has very strict standards for sellers. I am proud to maintain 100% positive feedback across my selling platforms, and I believe this reflects the honesty, care, and professionalism I try to provide with every sale.
Photography equipment can sometimes be complicated, especially vintage cameras and lenses. For example, a lens can have fungus inside the optics — a serious issue that reduces image quality and lowers the value significantly. Digital cameras can also have common problems such as broken battery doors or clips, autofocus issues, or batteries that no longer hold charge. Some digital cameras also use specific or less common memory card formats, or require a specific capacity of memory card, which are not always easy to find in Cyprus and can therefore cause delays for the buyer. For example, some digital cameras only accept SD cards up to 2GB or 4GB, while more vintage models may even require 512MB cards, which are now very difficult to find in Cyprus. If you use 8GB or 16GB cards, they may not work properly or may not be compatible at all. Also, some models use Sony Memory Stick cards, CompactFlash cards, or Olympus/Fuji xD-Picture Cards. In such cases, I understand that it may not be easy to find a compatible card reader to transfer photos to a computer. For these specific cameras, I always include a transfer cable or a compatible card reader to make the process easier for the buyer. That is why my listings are often complete with compatible memory cards, so the buyer can use the item immediately without needing to search for accessories or wait a long time to find the correct card. Point-and-shoot cameras may look simple, but they also need proper checking to ensure all functions work correctly.
Film point-and-shoot cameras besides the basic battery testing require film testing to confirm that everything operates as it should. Mechanical film cameras are even more complicated — even if they pass a full roll of film and the results look great, the camera seals are often dry or partially cracked and ready to come apart. These can still be hidden issues that only appear later, which is why proper inspection and long-term understanding of the camera are very important.
This is why buying from someone with real experience and knowledge can make a big difference.
All items are physically in my possession and ready to ship, usually the same or next day, so buyers can receive their item quickly and start enjoying it almost immediately.
Most importantly, I stand behind the items I sell. If something is genuinely not as described, I offer a 2-day return period so the buyer has enough time to inspect and test the equipment properly.
Finally, I am always happy to help with advice, recommendations, or guidance if someone is unsure about what camera, lens, or accessory would suit them best. Sometimes helping someone choose the right item is just as enjoyable to me as selling it.
