Mantenna was a member of Force Captain Adora's, and later, Catra's, force squad. In his youth, he attended the Horde academy on Horde World[2], and Hordak was implied that he, like other members of the force squad, was a product of Horde science[3]. Mantenna had the ability to fire energy beams of different varieties from his eyes, such as stun beams, gravity distortion beams, and freeze rays. Mantenna often acted very nervous, stuttering and stumbling over his words. He could also see over large distances and act as a spy for Hordak. Despite his useful abilities, Mantenna's bumbling often earned him Hordak's ire, with the Horde leader frequently amusing himself by sending Mantenna down the trap door in his throne room. On one occasion, however, Mantenna did manage to have his revenge and sent Hordak himself down the trap door[4].
