This is a Samsung HMX-QF20 camcorder, a compact vintage digital camcorder from the early 2010s. It is small, lightweight, and easy to use, making it ideal for capturing everyday moments in a classic camcorder style. The camera features a 2.7-inch touchscreen LCD, 20× optical zoom, and built-in Wi-Fi connectivity.
The camcorder is in very good cosmetic condition, as clearly shown in the professional close-up photos taken in my studio with a professional camera and lighting. It appears to have very little use and has been carefully stored.
The camera records Full HD video, however the sensor itself is not native Full HD. The camcorder records in HD and upscales the video to Full HD, which was common for many compact camcorders of this generation.
The camera also includes built-in Wi-Fi features. In the menu there are icons for sharing and uploading videos, including options that allow videos to be uploaded directly to services such as YouTube or shared through a Wi-Fi network, features that Samsung introduced at the time of release.
⚠ Important – Camera has some operational issues
For full transparency, the camera has some problems that should be taken into consideration.
• Sometimes when the camera is first turned on — especially after it has been charging or after it has been sitting unused for some time — it may freeze during startup.
• In this case, removing and reinstalling the battery resets the camera, and it starts normally.
Once the camera starts normally, it can be used and record video without problems.
Additionally:
• The camera features 20× optical zoom and also allows additional digital zoom.
• When zooming beyond about 17× optical zoom, the camera may have difficulty locking focus on very distant subjects, and the image may appear soft or blurry at the extreme zoom range.
For full transparency, I have also included a sample video recorded with this camera, so you can clearly see the video quality and the zoom behavior.
Because of the issues mentioned above, the camera is being sold at a lower price, but it can still be used normally without freezing or any problem during the video.
The camera is suitable for people who enjoy small vintage camcorders, collectors, or casual use.
