Olympus MASD-1 MicroSD to xD-Picture Card Adapter (New)

This listing is for a brand new, genuine Olympus MASD-1 MicroSD to xD-Picture Card adapter.

The Olympus MASD-1 allows certain compatible Olympus digital cameras to use a MicroSD or MicroSDHC memory card instead of a standard xD-Picture Card.

Please read carefully before purchasing.

This adapter is not compatible with every camera that uses xD-Picture Cards. It only works with a limited range of later Olympus digital cameras that were specifically designed to support the MASD-1 adapter.

Unlike an electronic converter, the MASD-1 contains no processor or conversion circuitry. It is simply a passive adapter that connects the MicroSD card directly to the camera. Only compatible Olympus cameras include the necessary hardware and firmware to recognize a MicroSD card through this adapter. Older Olympus models and virtually all Fujifilm xD cameras can only communicate with genuine xD-Picture Cards and therefore will not recognize the adapter.

The MASD-1 also has a small raised plastic section on one edge. Compatible Olympus cameras were designed to accept this shape. Older cameras with a standard flat xD card slot may not allow the adapter to insert fully. Never force the adapter into the camera, as doing so may damage the delicate memory card contacts.

Compatible Olympus cameras usually have a "microSD Compatible" or "xD / microSD Compatible" sticker on the front of the camera body. In the last photo, the red arrow points to the exact location of this sticker. If your camera has this sticker, it is generally compatible with the Olympus MASD-1 adapter. If your camera does not have this sticker, or the user manual does not mention MicroSD compatibility, the adapter is unlikely to be supported.

Stylus / µ Series: 1030SW, 1020, 1010, 850SW, 840, µ9000, µ7000, µ6000

FE Series: FE-5010, FE-3010, FE-3000, FE-370, FE-360, FE-20

SP Series: SP-590UZ, SP-565UZ
