Nakamichi BX-125 — the legendary Japanese tape specialist's 2-head deck:
custom-calibrated cam-drive mechanism, three-motor transport,
Dolby B/C NR,
master fader,
separate rec-level and output controls.
The famous Nakamichi build quality, Made in Japan (s/n 68889).
Condition: professionally serviced 6–7 years ago and barely used since; during that service the power transformer was converted to European 230V — plugs straight into Cyprus mains, no step-down transformer needed (factory label still reads 100V; conversion is internal and professional).
Verified before listing (see video):
confident, stable playback with clean sound across all three tape types — Normal (Type I), Chrome (Type II) and Metal (Type IV) — and across 46/60/90-minute lengths.
Fast-forward strong; rewind works, currently somewhat slower than FF.
Recording untested. Heads in excellent visible condition, no wear.
Bonus included — collectible Japanese tapes: Sony Metal-ES 90 (Type IV metal — itself a sought-after collector's tape), Victor DYNAREC DA7/46 (Type II high position), Maxell XLI 60 (Type I), plus a sealed blank tape (SONY, AXIA or MAXELL at your choice).
Hear what this deck does across every tape type from day one.
Vintage item, sold as seen — no returns. This is exactly why full inspection and demonstration before purchase are welcomed: take your time, test everything, bring your own tapes if you wish.
More Japanese tapes available separately — including sealed blanks and a demo tape recorded on a Nakamichi 1000ZXL — ask when viewing.
Viewing and demonstration possible (Limassol district).
