RØDE designers approached the NT1 as a combination of innovation and tradition, starting with the completely innovative capsule. The code name HF6 is the perfect example of the fusion of artistic design approaches and state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques from RØDE. It features a characteristic sound reminiscent of the famous microphones at the same time while being extremely quiet. It has been designed with a focus on a detailed medium frequency, along with smooth high frequencies and a warm, round bass response to make the NT1 an absolute highlight in its class. In another world first for RØDE, the sonic head is hung in the microphone using Rycote industry-leading Lyre system to minimise external vibrations at capsule level. The capsule is then connected to high quality electronics that are designed to provide the lowest noise level of all studio microphones available. The NT1 is an incredibly quiet microphone that measures only 4.5 dB (A) self-noise. Its housing is made of 6061 aluminium and has been then nickel-plated for corrosion resistance. Finally, it is coated with a durable military grade ceramic layer, using advanced electrostatic application techniques developed by RØDE to ensure an extremely durable scratch and stain resistant finish. The NT1 comes with the SM6, a high-quality cushioning that provides insulation from external physical factors that can cause unwanted sound and vibration in the microphone. It features a removable microphone protector with two adjustment axes and a telescopic arm for ultimate versatility.
