This lovely vintage piece dates to around 1929 when famous ceramic artist Clarice Cliff's own shapes were issued in Wilkinson's printed and enamelled patterns to make them more affordable to dealers who couldn't stock the highly prized Bizarre ware.
This pattern, named Poppyland, is a lovely example of Clarice Cliff's art deco style - a radial pattern shoulder pattern of black litho print of trees with enamelled poppies over a creamy all-white background.
