An elegant and highly distinctive mid-century vintage evening bag, dating from approximately the late 1950s to the 1960s, this unbranded piece beautifully captures the glamorous aesthetic and sophisticated metalwork associated with the era. Its design is strongly reminiscent of the iconic styles produced by makers such as Whiting & Davis, while remaining an unmarked vintage example in its own right.

The bag is crafted from luxurious gold-tone flat metal mesh, sometimes referred to as confetti or tile mesh. The individually articulated metal scales create a wonderfully fluid, almost liquid-like drape, allowing the bag to move beautifully when carried. A matching metal snake-chain shoulder strap completes the elegant silhouette.

Its most striking feature is the beautifully sculpted metal top frame, extending outward into distinctive pointed "wings" at the upper corners.
