Beautiful large Victorian edition of “Brown’s Self-Interpreting Family Bible,” containing the Old and New Testaments, by Rev. John Brown, D.D.
Published by Adam & Company, Newcastle-upon-Tyne and London, circa early 1870s. It contains numerous illustrations, including impressive full-page coloured biblical scenes.
The Bible has a richly embossed antique binding, decorative metal edging and two large brass clasps. An original handwritten ownership inscription is dated 31 March 1875.
