Golden Barrel Cactus (Echinocactus grusonii), often affectionately called "Mother-in-Law's Cushion."
Extra Large / Mature Specimen. Shape: Spherical, globe-like stem with prominent vertical ribs.
Spines: Sharp, slightly curved radial and central spines in a striking golden-yellow hue.
Crown & Flowers: A thick, woolly, felted center at the top apex. Mature specimens produce small, vivid yellow flowers around the crown in spring and summer. Basic Care Essentials
Light: Thrives in direct, full sunlight (at least 6 hours daily).
Water: Extremely drought-tolerant. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings, and keep it nearly bone-dry during winter dormancy.
Soil: Requires well-draining cactus or succulent potting mix blended with perlite or pumice to prevent root rot.
