The three-phase Huawei SUN2000-15KTL-M5 is a central component of a photovoltaic system. It converts the direct current generated by the solar panels into standard alternating current for household or commercial use.
According to the manufacturer, the inverter achieves an efficiency of up to 98.4%. Other models in the SUN2000-M5 series include the 12KTL, 17KTL, 20KTL and 25KTL. These variants primarily differ in their rated AC output. The 20KTL model, for example, has a rated output of 20,000 W.
Simple Installation
Measuring 54.6 × 46 × 22.8 cm and weighing approximately 21 kg, the inverter has a relatively compact and lightweight design. According to Huawei, it can be installed by two people or, where appropriate, by a single installer.
Its plug-in connections enable straightforward integration into the overall solar-energy system. The inverter uses RS485 communication for exchanging data with compatible components, such as Huawei’s Smart Power Sensor. Commissioning and system configuration are further simplified through the Huawei FusionSolar app.
Safety and Performance
The Huawei SUN2000-15KTL-M5 features integrated surge protection, AI-powered arc-fault detection and two independent MPP trackers. These trackers allow separate solar-panel strings to operate efficiently under different conditions.
The inverter provides a maximum apparent AC output of 16,500 VA and has an MPPT operating voltage range of 200 to 1,000 V. Its quiet operation makes it suitable for a variety of installation environments.
The robust IP66-rated enclosure protects the internal components against dust and powerful water jets, allowing the inverter to be installed in suitable indoor or outdoor locations.
