Volvo S40, 2006 — 270,000 km
Reliable and comfortable car in good condition. Owned by one family for nearly 20 years and always serviced on time. With proper care, these engines easily run 400,000–500,000 km without a major overhaul.
The engine runs perfectly — no knocking or unusual noises. The interior is in great shape too: every button and feature works as it should.
Well-equipped: cruise control, one-touch power windows, "floating" center console, dual-zone climate control, and two keys included. The tires are practically new.
Already done: timing belt, water pump, and spark plugs replaced. The car is fully roadworthy.
Selling only because I'm switching to a car with an automatic transmission.
A few minor things worth knowing (all non-critical, inexpensive to fix, and not urgent):
- At the last inspection, the shop recommended replacing the control arm, engine mount, and thermostat — parts and labor are cheap.
- The airbag warning light is on after a minor front-end contact. The body and even the bumper are undamaged, the airbags never deployed; the mechanic says the sensor in the steering wheel just needs adjusting.
- The handbrake needs new pads.
The car drives without any issues — everything above can be done at your own pace.
