Faulty thrustmaster t-gt ii servo base psu for parts

Sold as faulty, for parts or repair. Not working. During a session the unit made unusual noises, then a burning smell. After that the force feedback was gone. It was still detected and the buttons worked, but no steering resistance. Unplugged ever since, not switched on again. Turning the wheel by hand unpowered gives clear magnetic cogging and resistance — belt intact, motor still connected. Fault is most likely the motor winding or power stage. Never opened. PSU included, also to be treated as faulty — I couldn't tell whether the smell came from the base or the PSU. Do not connect to mains before opening and inspecting it. Full history: I bought this base second-hand in a faulty state and had it repaired by Thrustmaster at the time. It worked after that until this failure.
