Description
Translate to:
Vintage hand-worked Italian art-glass lidded urn/apothecary vessel, believed to date from approximately the 1960s–1980s.
The exterior has a distinctive pale blue, white and grey archaeological-style textured finish consistent with the decorative Scavo tradition associated with Venetian/Murano glassmaking.
The interior reveals layered ivory/opal, emerald-green and amber-brown glass, enhanced by elaborate gold-coloured scrolling decoration. The vessel retains its matching fitted lid/stopper, carrying the same textured exterior finish.
Acquired from an antique shop. No maker's signature or original label has been identified, therefore the piece is offered conservatively as Italian/Murano-style Scavo art glass, maker unknown and is not attributed to a specific glasshouse.
Approximate height: 20 cm. Maximum diameter: approximately 14–15 cm.
A distinctive decorative collector's piece with particularly attractive internal coloured-glass and gold-coloured detailing.
Condition:
Good vintage condition. The irregular blue/white weathered exterior is believed to be an intentional decorative Scavo-type finish and should not be interpreted simply as dirt or corrosion. Minor age-related marks are present. Please refer closely to photographs. Original fitted lid/stopper is included.
