The front panel and control knobs are milled from thick aluminium, the top cover is vented steel, and the central OLED display can be dimmed or switched off. It is available in black or white. The 2 x 75 W class AB output stage uses Hegel's SoundEngine 2 correction, giving a damping factor above 2000 and stable operation into 2 ohm loads. A large low noise toroidal transformer and high speed capacitors supply the current. Inside is a custom four layer digital to analogue converter derived from the Viking CD player, feeding both the digital inputs and the internal streaming section. A Moving Magnet phono input, a headphone output and a coaxial digital output for DAC loop use complete a genuinely full system in one box.
