Its best known feature is the Phono Enhancer setting, a current drive input mode intended for low impedance moving coil cartridges. Rather than amplifying the cartridge voltage in the conventional way, this mode amplifies the current the cartridge generates, which many listeners find gives a more open and dynamic presentation from low output moving coil designs.
