Clear Sky is the most affordable cable in the Cardas Clear family and the cheapest way into the Matched Propagation conductor geometry used in the dearer Clear models. It suits a system where a Clear Reflection run would be more cable than the electronics justify. What it does A loudspeaker cable carries the amplifier output to the speaker terminals. The job is mechanical and electrical rather than mysterious: hold a low resistance connection over the distance required, keep the two polarities in a stable geometry, and make solid contact at both ends. Clear Sky uses four conductors of 15 AWG Grade 1 copper, 99.9999% pure and oxygen free, each strand individually coated in Litz fashion. The four are concentrically braided, wrapped in low noise PTFE tape with an electro dissipative dielectric, surrounded by anti static polypropylene fibres and jacketed in flexible Alcryn rubber. How it sounds and where it fits We will not claim a cable transforms a system, because at this level the differences between well made cables are small and depend heavily on what they are connected to. What we can tell you is where it fits. Cardas places Clear Sky above its entry Crosslink and Iridium ranges and below Clear Cygnus, so it suits systems in roughly the €3,000 to €10,000 range.
