From a series that is no longer manufactured. This is a 0.6m pair of Beta balanced interconnect, the shortest length Esprit offered in the series. It is meant for two components sharing a rack, a DAC directly above a preamplifier for example, where a longer cable would only coil up behind the equipment. Beta is the entry point to Esprit's main ranges, and the series was discontinued when the maker moved to its G10 generation in 2026. What it does A balanced connection sends the signal along two conductors, one of them inverted, and the input stage takes the difference. Interference arriving on both legs equally is rejected, which is the point of the format. The Beta XLR uses 0.32mm strands of 5N OCC copper, a thicker strand than the single ended version of the same range. The conductors are laid symmetrically while the insulation is not, mixing a stiff high temperature PVC and a soft silicone. Connections are silver plated copper at 20 microns, with a ferrite choke fitted. How it sounds and where it fits We will not claim more than is fair.
