It plays effectively every silver disc a serious collection is likely to hold, from 4K UHD Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D through SACD and DVD-Audio to plain CD, and it treats the audio side of that job with the same care a dedicated source component would.Two independent Burr Brown PCM1795 converters handle digital to analogue conversion, feeding an output stage built around seven OPA1602 operational amplifiers. Both balanced XLR and gold plated RCA two channel outputs are provided, alongside optical, coaxial and HDMI digital outputs, so the player can go straight into a two channel preamplifier or hand everything over to an AV processor. Frequency response runs from 20Hz to 20kHz within 0.05dB, with a signal to noise ratio of 120dB and distortion plus noise below 0.01%.On the video side the UDP800 MKII carries Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10 and SDR with a source direct output that passes the disc through untouched, and it will bitstream Dolby Atmos and DTS:X or send up to 7.1 channel 192kHz PCM over HDMI.
