In Bluetooth low energy mode it holds a connection to the unit and does not need line of sight, which is useful if the streamer sits inside a cabinet or behind a door. In infrared mode it behaves as a conventional remote and drops to standby after six seconds to save power. Pairing is done by holding the next track and volume down buttons together for three seconds. The handset covers the controls you use from a listening seat: transport, track skip, volume, input and access to the on screen menu. Where it fits Most Eversolo DMP units are supplied with a handset, so this is normally bought as a spare or a replacement rather than a first purchase. It is also worth having if the main remote lives beside the system and you want a second one in another seat. Because it is the manufacturer's own accessory there is no question of partial compatibility with the Eversolo interface, which is a common frustration with universal remotes.
