F2 The Minolta AF Zoom 65, sold in North America as the Minolta Freedom Zoom 65, is a very appealing late-1980s 35mm point-and-shoot camera. Released around 1989, it comes from the period when compact cameras were becoming much more advanced, combining autofocus, motorized zoom and fully automatic film handling in a simple everyday package. For film lovers, one of its nicest features is the motorized 38–65mm Minolta zoom lens. At 38mm it is well suited to street photography, travel, everyday scenes and group shots, while the 65mm end gives a tighter perspective that works nicely for portraits and more selective compositions. The zoom is operated electronically, making it quick and easy to move between focal lengths. The camera uses active infrared autofocus and also offers focus lock, allowing you to focus on your subject first and then recompose the frame while keeping the subject sharp. This example is in excellent overall condition, with only some small cosmetic imperfections and light signs of previous use. Overall, it remains very clean and attractive for its age.
