F2 The Olympus Superzoom 70G is a compact 35mm autofocus point-and-shoot camera from the early 2000s, combining simple automatic operation with a useful 38–70mm Olympus zoom lens. Olympus introduced the model in 2002 as an affordable, easy-to-use compact camera with autofocus, automatic exposure and motorized film handling. For film lovers, the 38–70mm zoom range makes it a very versatile everyday camera. At 38mm it works nicely for street photography, travel, holidays and general snapshots, while the 70mm end gives a tighter perspective that is useful for portraits and more distant subjects. The Olympus lens is a 38–70mm f/4.5–8.5 design, with autofocus and focus-lock capability. Using the camera is very straightforward. Slide open the large front lens barrier, which also acts as the main power switch, and the lens extends ready for shooting. Load a standard roll of 35mm film, close the back and the camera automatically advances the film to the first frame. From there, focusing, exposure and film advance are handled automatically. At the end of the roll, the camera rewinds the film automatically, and there is also a mid-roll rewind function. The camera also offers a built-in flash with several useful modes, including red-eye reduction, fill-in flash, flash-off and night-scene settings, together with a self-timer. The LCD panel displays information such as the exposure counter and battery status. This example is in good overall cosmetic condition, with some small handling marks, scratches and normal signs of previous use visible on the silver body. The optics are clean, with no visible fungus or haze. The Olympus Superzoom 70G uses 1 × CR123A 3V lithium battery (also compatible with DL123A or equivalent). The battery is not included.
