Samsung slim zoom 1150 - vintage 35mm film camera - rollei prego 115 rebrand

16 A Beautiful Vintage Film Camera with a Special Connection to the Legendary German Rollei! During the 1990s, Samsung was not yet as widely recognized in the photographic world as manufacturers such as Canon, Nikon, Minolta, or Olympus. However, Samsung was developing advanced camera technology and had established a close relationship with Rollei, the legendary German camera manufacturer, famous worldwide for its Rolleiflex cameras and outstanding photographic heritage. What makes the Samsung Slim Zoom 1150 particularly interesting is that the Rollei Prego 115 is essentially its German-branded counterpart. The Rollei Prego 115 is believed to have been manufactured by Samsung and rebranded under the prestigious Rollei name. The two cameras share an almost identical design, the same 38–115mm zoom range, and many of the same internal mechanisms and photographic features. This was an era when Samsung's electronic engineering and manufacturing expertise came together with Rollei's long photographic tradition. Some cameras in the Rollei Prego family also featured prestigious German Schneider-Kreuznach lenses, a name associated with excellent German optical engineering. Although the Samsung Slim Zoom 1150 carries its own Samsung-branded lens, its close relationship with the Rollei Prego 115 makes it a fascinating piece of 1990s photographic history.
