A compact super tweeter reaching 50kHz, offering the SuperTrax principle at a considerably lower price. S-Trax is the more affordable version of Fyne Audio's patented super tweeter, using a 25mm magnesium dome with a neodymium magnet system in place of the Thin Ply Carbon Diaphragm of the SuperTrax.A super tweeter does not add treble in the ordinary sense. It extends the radiating bandwidth of the system well above the limit of hearing, which alters the time domain behaviour inside the audible band. What listeners report is more air around instruments, a cleaner sense of the recording space and better defined transients, rather than a brighter sound.Output runs to 50kHz through a CryoLite treated third order crossover fixed at 16kHz, with a wider plus or minus 4.5dB adjustment range than the SuperTrax offers. The cabinet is much smaller at 79 x 82 x 149mm and weighs 1kg.Several Fyne Audio speakers publish an S-Trax placement position in their specifications, measured from the front edge of the cabinet.
