The X8 uses eight Cirrus Logic CS43198 converters, four per channel, in a true dual mono layout. Left and right are kept separate in power supply, circuit layout and signal path, and the outputs of each group of four are summed to lower noise and improve dynamic range and low level detail. Each converter sits under its own shielding cover. The headphone stage uses OPA1612 op amps and TPA6120A2 high current drivers for each channel. From the balanced 4.4 mm and 4 pin XLR outputs it delivers up to 4,840 mW per channel into 16 ohms, with an output impedance below 1 ohm. Impedance detection works on all three headphone outputs and sets the gain automatically, and each output remembers its own volume, EQ and crossfeed settings. Processing is handled by a dual core DSP running at over 500 MHz, which drives the AI Assisted EQ: describe the sound you want by voice or text in the app or web interface and the EQ is set for you. Digital and analogue circuits have separate linear power supplies. Inputs are USB B, USB C, I2S, optical and coaxial, with balanced XLR and RCA line outputs and 12 V trigger connections. An infrared remote is available separately in the X8 Visual and Remote Kit.
