18 The Samsung VP-A17 PAL Video8 is a vintage 8mm analog camcorder featuring a 16x optical zoom, 64x digital zoom, Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS), Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and a high-resolution electronic viewfinder (EVF). Please note: This camcorder is being sold exclusively for Video8 tape playback and digitization, NOT for recording or normal camera use. Condition & Testing: The camcorder has been tested and is working great for playing back Video8 tapes. The electronic viewfinder is clean and clear, allowing you to comfortably monitor tape playback. Please note that the electronic viewfinder on this model displays images in black and white. However, the video output signal is in full colour. Video playback and colour video output have been successfully tested using an RCA cable. The video signal is working properly, making this camera suitable for transferring and digitizing your old Video8 recordings. Important Functional Limitation – Zoom Control: The zoom-in/zoom-out control is damaged both internally and cosmetically, as clearly shown in the photographs. The zoom mechanism is stuck at its furthest telephoto position and cannot be adjusted. The zoom control itself also shows visible physical damage. Consequently, the camcorder cannot be used normally for recording or general camera operation. It is offered specifically as a playback device for viewing and digitizing existing Video8 tapes.
