We are looking for a kind, reliable, and compassionate person to spend time with our sweet 83-year-old mother, who has dementia, 2–3 times per week for 1–2 hours per visit.

She does have a live-in caregiver who takes care of her daily needs, but we are looking for someone who can provide additional companionship, help keep her active, and support her overall wellbeing.

Responsibilities include:

-Preparing a healthy meal or snack

-Encouraging and accompanying her on a short walk or assisting with simple chair yoga or gentle exercises (training provided)

-Checking that groceries and basic supplies have been delivered and are available

-Providing companionship and helping keep an eye on her wellbeing

We would like to start training the right person now while we are still here before we leave to go abroad in October. The initial position can start immediately but we need to ensure that you can commit to being around from October to February.

Ideal candidate:

-Patient, caring, and dependable

-Can cook basic but healthy meals

-Comfortable spending time with seniors and individuals living with dementia

-Previous caregiving experience is a bonus but not essential

Future Opportunity:

If the arrangement is a good fit and we establish a comfortable routine together, there may be an opportunity after the initial six-month period to transition into a full-time live-in caregiving role, including a monthly salary, accommodation, meals, and social insurance.
