Rare Falk Mechanical PTO Recovery Winch Complete with A-Frame Recovery Crane
A very uncommon Falk heavy-duty mechanical recovery winch removed from a 1960 ex-British Army Land Rover Series II.
This is a complete rear-mounted recovery system comprising:
Heavy-duty Falk PTO-driven drum winch
Original steel wire rope
Heavy-duty forged recovery hook
Elevated guide pulley (sheave)
Heavy-duty A-frame/gin pole
Bracing chains and adjustable turnbuckles
Complete fabricated mounting frame
Drum guard
Original identification plate (partially readable)
This is not an electric winch but a proper period mechanical PTO recovery unit, designed for serious recovery work.
The system appears to date from the 1960s–1970s and is substantially built using heavy-gauge steel throughout.

Additional stamped reference 58/31383 (partially legible)
The wording on the plate is in Dutch (“Inventarie nr”), suggesting the unit was likely used by a Dutch military or government organisation after its British Army service.
