Kindergarten teacher

Kindergarten Teacher (children 4-5 years)

Working hours: 7:30 - 15:00 (Monday - Friday)

Location: Limassol

ICan Kids is looking for a passionate Early Childhood Teacher to inspire young learners from non-English-speaking families to learn English through play, exploration, and inquiry-based learning. Responsibilities

- Following all safety procedures and instructions.

- Communicate and liaise with colleagues in an effort to promote and establish integrative links and/or awareness.

- Establish links with the parent community to ensure that parents are kept well informed about student progress.

- Setting expectations for discipline and behavior including dealing with inappropriate behavior according to kindergarten policy.

- Creating engaging lessons to involve students of all abilities, coordinating with colleagues and assistants where needed.

- Setting up the educational environment and organizing equipment.

- Maintain up-to-date records of assessment, attendance, planning, reports and communication with parents.

- Using a mix of resources to enhance student`s exploration of the topic.

- Using different teaching methods, including group work, independent research, demonstrations, experiments and play, to motivate and encourage interaction in the group.

- Completing administrative work e.g. writing reports, updating records, marking works

Act as a resource/contact/support for new staff members (i.e. curriculum, schedules, procedures).

- Attend and constructively contribute to staff meetings.

- Participate in and assist with kindergarten events as required.

Requirements

- Bachelor of Pre-Primary or Nursery Education.

KYSATS accreditation/approval (for non-CY diplomas).

- Fluent English (Knowledge of Greek will be considered an advantage).

- Being a dynamic educator with a willingness to innovate and inspire.

- A deep understanding of EYFS curriculum and an ability to use initiative to plan instruction and assess learning outcomes using standards and benchmarks.

- Being a good team player.

- Strong classroom management skills appropriate for early childhood students.

- An ability to communicate well with all ages of kindergarten students, staff and parents.

- A proven ability to differentiate instruction to meet individual needs.

- A wide range of assessment tools and strategies with the ability to share their application to inquiry-based instruction.

- Excellent communication skills and patience.

- Creative approach to daily tasks

Experience of working in private kindergartens is an advantage.
