Niue: Nikola Tesla - War of the Currents $1 Silver 2023 Proof is the first coin in the "Nikola Tesla" series dedicated to the life and work of the genius inventor Nikola Tesla. The scientist studied mathematics and physics. He studied electricity and discovered the principle of alternating current.
The piece was minted from pure ore Ag.999, weighing 31.1 grams, diameter 37 mm, in the proof standard. The product has a circulation of only 1,500 pieces.
This unique piece was designed by Asamat Baltaev, DiS. and produced by the Czech Mint, as well as being the official currency in Niue. The coin has a guarantee as to the legality, purity of the ore and the origin of the metal.
The obverse of the coin is decorated with the coat of arms of Niue and a flying saucer, the inscription "NIUE ISLAND" and the face value and year of the coin.
The reverse shows an image of Nikola Tesla looking down at his rival Thomas Edison. On the reverse there is the inscription "WAR OF THE CURRENTS", "AC/DC".
