Η Napolitana Negra (ή Ναπολιτάνα Νέγρα) είναι μια ποικιλία δίφορης συκιάς (Ficus carica) που παράγει καρπούς δύο φορές το χρόνο. Χαρακτηρίζεται από το πολύ γλυκό, κόκκινο εσωτερικό της και τη σκούρα μοβ προς μαύρη φλούδα.
Γεύση: Έχει πλούσια, συμπυκνωμένη γεύση που θυμίζει μαρμελάδα μούρων και μέλι.
Υφή: Η σάρκα της είναι παχύρευστη, ζουμερή και πολύ απαλή, με μικρά, ελάχιστα αισθητά σπόρια.
Φλούδα: Αν και είναι σκουρόχρωμη (μοβ/μαύρη), είναι σχετικά λεπτή. Αυτό την κάνει πολύ ευχάριστη στο φάγωμα με τη φλούδα.
Πρώτη Εσοδεία (βλέπε φωτογραφία από 6 Ιουλίου): Ωριμάζουν στις αρχές του καλοκαιριού στα κλαδιά της περασμένης χρονιάς.
Δεύτερη Εσοδεία: Ωριμάζουν από τα τέλη Αυγούστου έως το φθινόπωρο στα κλαδιά της τρέχουσας περιόδου. Τα σύκα αυτά είναι μεγάλα και εξαιρετικά εύγευστα.
Είναι αυτογόνιμη ποικιλία και δεν χρειάζεται άλλο δέντρο για να καρποφορήσει.
Napolitana Negra is a variety of the fig tree (Ficus carica) that produces fruit twice a year. It is characterized by its very sweet, red interior and dark purple to black skin.
Taste: It has a rich, concentrated flavor reminiscent of berry jam and honey.
Texture: Its flesh is thick, juicy and very soft, with small, barely noticeable seeds.
Skin: Although it is dark in color (purple/black), it is relatively thin. This makes it very pleasant to eat with the skin.
First Harvest (see photo from July 6): They ripen in early summer on the branches of the previous year.
Second Harvest: They ripen from late August to autumn on the branches of the current season. These figs are large and extremely delicious.
It is a self-fertile variety and does not need another tree to bear fruit.
