Seeking to recruit a Baker. A Baker is responsible for preparing and baking a wide variety of baked goods, such as bread, pastries, and cakes.
The role requires a combination of culinary skills, creativity, and attention to detail to ensure high-quality products are consistently produced.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and measure ingredients accurately according to recipes.
- Mix, knead, and shape dough to create a range of bread and pastry products.
- Operate and monitor baking equipment, such as ovens, mixers, and dough sheeters.
- Follow established baking techniques and methods to produce consistent results.
- Monitor baking times and temperatures to ensure products are baked to perfection.
- Decorate and finish baked goods, including applying glazes, icing, or toppings.
- Keep production areas clean and organized, following proper food safety and sanitation standards.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring ingredient levels and notifying management of any shortages or spoilage.
- Collaborate with other team members, such as pastry chefs or cake decorators, to ensure the timely completion of orders.
- Stay updated on industry trends and new baking techniques through continuous learning and professional development.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a baker or relevant culinary experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
- Ability to accurately measure ingredients and follow recipes.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required in the baking industry.
- Food handler’s certification or willingness to obtain one.
