The Veterinary Assistant / Secretary manages the front desk while providing essential clinical support to the veterinary team. This dual-role requires excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and a compassionate, hands-on approach to animal care.

Key Responsibilities

Front Office & Administration: Greet clients, schedule appointments, manage patient records, process payments, and answer phone calls or emails.

Patient Intake & Triaging: Check in patients, weigh animals, obtain basic medical histories, and recognize urgent or emergency cases.

Clinical Assistance: Safely restrain animals during exams, blood draws, or vaccinations, and prepare treatment rooms for the veterinarian.

Pharmacy & Lab Support: Fill prescriptions under veterinary supervision, prepare laboratory samples, and review basic discharge instructions with owners.

Facility Care: Clean and sanitize exam rooms, surgical areas, and kennels to maintain a sterile and welcoming environment.
