ICan Kids is searching for a passionate and experienced early childhood music teacher. We understand what important role music plays in both the social/emotional development and academic growth of the youngest learners within our kindergarten. As a successful candidate you have a basic knowledge of the EYFS program, a positive attitude to our Reggio-inspired teaching philosophy and a readiness to combine different teaching methods to create a co-constructive teaching process.

Our teachers maintain a safe and respectful learning environment that promotes positive behavior and engagement of students and consistently ensures compliance with the educational process in the group. As a part of the team you are cooperating with students, supporting experiments and representing our institute on and off campus.

Responsibilities

- Following all safety procedures and instructions

- Communicate and liaise with colleagues in an effort to promote and establish integrative links and/or awareness

- Setting expectations for discipline and behavior including dealing with inappropriate behavior according to kindergarten policy

- Use a range of strategies to differentiate learning where needed

- Creating engaging lessons to involve students of all abilities

- Setting up the educational environment and organizing equipment

- Maintain up-to-date records of assessment, attendance, planning, reports and communication with parents

- Using a mix of resources to enhance student`s exploration of the topic

- Act as a resource/contact/support for new staff members (i.e. curriculum, schedules, procedures)

- Attend and constructively contribute to staff meetings

- Participate in and assist with kindergarten events as required

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in Music or a related field

KYSATS accreditation/approval

- Confident English speaker

- Excellent communication and organizational skills

- Ability to play at least one instrument proficiently

- Being a dynamic educator with a willingness to innovate and inspire

- A strong knowledge and understanding of developmentally appropriate instructional practices within a kindergarten context

- Experience in teaching elementary music, preferably in an international kindergarten setting, or with students from diverse cultural backgrounds

- Strong classroom management skills, appropriate for early childhood age students

- An ability to communicate well with all ages of kindergarten students, staff and parents

- A deep understanding of EYFS curriculum and an ability to use initiative to plan instruction and assess learning outcomes using standards and benchmarks

- A positive attitude and commitment to collaborating with others

- A proven ability to differentiate instruction to meet individual needs

- Knowledge on current research, curriculum and pedagogy related to early childhood music instruction

- A wide range of assessment tools and strategies with the ability to share their application to inquiry-based instruction

- A love for singing and excitement at the opportunity of leading kindergarten singing groups and performances

- A desire to lead assemblies, music performances within the kindergarten, and promote a life-long love of music across the entire kindergarten community
